Jazz-choir of Sverdlovsk State Children Philharmonic (Yekaterinburg, Russia) was established in 1988. The best pieces of jazz and pop music, spirituals, contemporary music and modern arrangements of folk songs make it’s repertoire. Over the years the choir has been on tours and choral competitions in China, Romania, Sweden, Austria, Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Switzerland, Italy, Great Britain, Latvia, Spain, France.

Marina Makarova

Marina Makarova is the founder and artistic director of the Jazz-Choir of the State Children Philharmonic Society (Yekaterinburg, Russia). Marina Makarova graduated from the Ural State Conservatory named after M. Musorgsky as a "Choir conductor and teacher of the choral disciplines in specialised educational institutions". Thanks to her initiative, Jazz-Choir of the State Children Philharmonic Society was founded in the city of Yekaterinburg in 1988. Marina Makarova carries a title of the Honoured Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation. Twice she has been awarded a prize of the Sverdlovsk Region Governor for the outstanding achievements in the field of art and culture. Marina Makarova is doing methodological work and also serves as a member of the jury of many regional vocal and choral competitions.
