Haguro High School Choir
Hello, everyone! We came from the hoot of Mt.haguro,which is famous for the mountain asceticism. Haguro High School Choir started at 2002, and we've been singing for 17 years. Our goal is "to create the music through which we can share the deep impression." Every year we have an annual concert, try choral competitions, and perform in our community. Recently we've had chances to perform at the big competition such as the Fukushima Vocal Ensemble Competition, Takarazuka International Chamber Chorus Contest, and Tokyo International Choral Competition. We are very happy to perform again at TICCTokyo today! We are looking forward to meeting so many musical friends from all over the world! Please enjoy our performance!
Conductor
Ren Haruyama
He studied musicology and history of arts at Kyoto University. He was a member of World Youth Choir in 2000, 2001, and 2003. He was also a member of Asian Youth Choir in 2004. In 2002, after graduating from university, he started teaching at Haguro high school ―not music but history, ethics and English. At the same time, he founded Haguro High School Choir and has been directing the choir for 17 years.
