Wisteria Ensemble

In 2001, they started under the name of "Esashi Junior Choir" by the alumni of Esashi Junior High School chorus Club and the parental society. Participated in the General chorus B category in the National Competition of the Japan Choral Competition for three consecutive years. In 2002, they received the Japan Broadcasting Association Award. Since 2005, they changed their name to "Wisteria Ensemble". In their name Wisteria, there is a wish that the children that grew up under the hands of the conductor Naomi Fujioka will deeply be bound together and would be able to sing for a long time with their conductor. The current members ranges from Junior High School, High School and University students to Adults, and are having activities around Japan.

Naomi Fujioka

Graduated from the Rinsei-kai of Otani Junior College, she founded the Esashi Junior High School Chorus Club. Participated in the National competition of the NHK School Music Competition and the Japan Choral Competition. In 2002, she received the Music Education Promotion Award by the Foundation of Music Promotion. In 2003, she moved to Midori Junior High School of Iwamizawa City, restored the Chorus Club and led the club to receive the Gold prize in the NHK Local area competition for five consecutive years. Received the Gold prize in the Hokkaido Choral Competition for four times. In 2008, she moved to the Ryohoku Junior High School of Sapporo City, and received the Gold prize in the Hokkaido Choral Competition at the first performance. In 2012, she led to the Gold prize in the National competition of the Japan Choral Competition Junior High School Category at the first performance. In 2001, she founded the Esashi Junior Choir, and in 2005, changed the name to Wisteria Ensemble. In 2002, she received the Cultural Achievement Award of Esashi Town and the Award for the Hokkaido Execution of Education. In 2006, she received the Minister of Education award for Teacher of Excellence.
