Tokyo Bay Youth Choir

The choir was founded by Kaoru Tani, a choral conductor who studied in Austria. It was founded in 2018 by a group of talented young singers, including former members of the Japan Choral Association Youth Choir.
The choir's main repertoire consists of works from the European Romantic period. The choir is currently based in Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture, and has about 20 members, most of whom are under the age of 35.

Conductor Kaoru Tani

After graduation from the Department of Voice at the Kunitachi College of Music, she moved to Europe to study choral conducting. She completed her studies at the Department of Conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and the Graduate School of Choral Conducting at the University of the Arts Graz, and returned to Japan in 2017, where she currently works extensively as a choral conductor, mainly in the Tokyo metropolitan area. She has studied choral conducting under Tetsuro Hanai, Erwin Ortner, and Johannes Prinz.
She has been the director of initium ; auditorium. She has been the permanent conductor of vocalconsort initium, Hugo Distler Vokalensemble, and Tokyo Bay Youth Choir. She has also directed many other choirs.
