CCC Kei Wan Aldrich Bay Primary School Choir

The CCC Kei Wan Aldrich Bay Primary School Choir of Hong Kong was established in 1991 and is now active in different music performances and competitions such as the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and different international choir festivals. They have also traveled to various countries such as Sweden, Germany, England, Poland, Canada and Beijing to have masterclasses, performances, competitions and they attained outstanding results. In 2014, the choir achieved the Grand Prix Champion over 47 choirs from different nations in the 1st Singapore International Choir Festival. They also won the “Best Primary School Junior Choir 2017 in the HK Region and the Kowloon Region”, the “Best Primary School Senior Choir 2018 in the HK Region and the Kowloon Region” in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, the Gold Medal in Grand Prix of Nations Gothenburg 2019 & 4th European Choir Games and the Gold Medal in Taipei International Choral Competition 2022. Recently, they have received the Gold Medal in the Hong Kong Inter-School Choral Festival with the highest mark in the division section.

So Ming Kong

Mr So Ming Kong received his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music from the Hong Kong Baptist University and Master of Arts in Music from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He studied violin with Dr Gilbert Sak and Mr Kenneth Ip. He is currently the Head of Music and Arts Department in CCC Kei Wan Primary School (Aldrich Bay).

Being coached by international choral maestros Dénes Szabó , Soma Szabó and Dr Shang Lun Wu, So is currently the choir conductor of CCC Kei Wan Primary School (Aldrich Bay). He and his choir have won the championship in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival for several years, while his choir was awarded “The Best Primary School Senior Choir” in the HK Region and the Kowloon Region in 2018. In 2019, So led his choir to participate in the Grand Prix of Nations Gothenburg 2019 and won the Gold Medal. During the Covid-19 pandemic, So held a virtual Christmas concert in an unprecedented and remarkable way. Recently, So conducted a childrens’ choir formed by two different schools in the recording for the Education Bureau. He also attained the Gold Medal with his choir in the Taipei International Choral Competition 2022 and Hong Kong Inter-School Choral Competition 2023.
