The Greeners' Sound

THE GREENERS' SOUND was founded in 2010 as a mixed choral society. The choir was established by several enthusiastic alumni choristers of Belilios Public School and Wah Yan College, Kowloon, sharing their passion for singing, as well as strong bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood. The choir now consists of 30-40 experienced singers, both undergraduate and graduate students. The Greeners’ Sound performs a wide range of repertoires, from Gregorian chants, renaissance motets, folklores, sacred music, romantic songs to contemporary works. Since its establishment in 2010, the choir has performed in various occasions, from local performances to overseas competitions, and attained multiple awards. Recent awards including Gold Prize in Youth Class in 2018 Tokyo International Choir Competition, ​ Gold A award in Contemporary Category and Gold B award in Youth Mixed Voice Category in 2015 Hong Kong World Youth and Children's Choir Festival – Hong Kong, Gold medal in Mixed Chamber Choir Champions Competition in the 8th World Choir Games, championship and second place in Senior Choir (SATB) of the open category in the 67th and 68th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival respectively.

Yeung Long Ting Ronald

Yeung has been learning piano since he was a child. He developed a keen interest in choral music under the guidance of teachers Mr. Eddy Chi-hong Cheung, Ms. Agnes Hwong and Mr. Lesley Chan during his school days. He was already an active member of the choir in middle school and served as accompanist and student conductor. After graduation, he majored in music education at The Education University of Hong Kong, and won the Outstanding Choral and Instrumental Music Conducting Award and the Choral Teaching Scholarship. In the past ten years, Yeung has led different choirs to participate in competitions and performances and has won many outstanding achievements, such as the overall champion and the best conductor award of the 3rd Hong Kong International Youth Chorus Festival, the gold medal of the 8th World Chorus Competition, and the Hong Kong Inter-school Chorus Festival Gold Award, and the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival category competition champion. Yeung is currently teaching at Wah Yan College, Kowloon. He is also the conductor of The Greeners’ Sound and a member of the local male choir group Signo.
