Ardor Women’s Choir

Established in 2002 under the guidance of choral conductor Chisato Fuchigami, the Ardor Women’s Choir began its ac vi es as a dedicated female ensemble. True to its name— “ardor,” meaning passion in Spanish—the group has upheld a strong musical commitment since its founding. The choir has appeared twenty mes at the Tokyo Choral Fes val since 2003 and has presented biennial concerts at venues such as Hamarikyu Asahi Hall following its first performance in 2006. The Excellence Award in the 2015 Tokyo Spring Chorus Contest. In 2025, the choir earned the Margaret Award at the All-Japan Mothers’ Chorus Tokyo Compe on and the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Award at the 29th Senior Chorus Tokyo Fes val. Each member con nues to sing with joy, striving for ever greater musical achievement.

He graduated from Kunitachi College of Music with a major in piano performance and received Third Prize at the inaugural Japan Mozart Music Competition. As a scholarship student at the Music Academy in France, he completed the master class of Dalton Baldwin, further deepening his musical training. In recent years, he has devoted himself to conducting. He serves as conductor and artistic adviser to several choral ensembles, many of which have earned distinctions at major competitions, including the Tokyo Spring Chorus Contest. In 2025, the choir he conducts received the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Award, the First Prize, at the 29th Senior Chorus Tokyo Festival, demonstrating his refined musicianship and exceptional leadership. He is also a member of the Japan Choral Conductors Association and continues to contribute to the development of Japan’s choral community through his dedicated artistic work and commitment to musical excellence.
