SU I
Category 2

SU I is a Taiwan-based conductor whose work encompasses choral performance, composition, and music education. His artistic focus lies in the cultivation of vocal aesthetics and the exploration of contemporary choral sound. Marked by clarity of structure and refined musical thought, his conducting balances analytical precision with expressive restraint. Through the deconstruction of musical symbols, he rearticulates choral works within the human voice. In recent years, Su Yi has been actively engaged in composing and arranging contemporary choral music, conceiving experimental choral projects that extend the expressive potential of the medium. His rehearsal practice is disciplined yet attentive, encouraging collective listening and imagination, and framing choral singing as a shared act of breath, resonance, and embodied sound.
