Sinapalan Elementary School is located in the Bunun tribe of Sinyi Township, Nantou County, Taiwan, at an elevation of 900 meters. Although the students are naturally gifted in music and the arts, the lack of professional teachers in remote areas once limited their learning and performance opportunities. Thanks to the support of the Council of Indigenous Peoples and the Taipei Rosyclouds Foundation for Education, the Sinapalan Children’s Chorus was founded in 2013, guided by a professional conductor to help students develop their musical talents. Since then, their passionate voices and confident smiles have shone brightly on stage. Beginning in 2014, the chorus has earned outstanding results in the National Music Competition, receiving the High Distinct Award for five consecutive years. We believe these children will continue to shine on every stage of life, and that Sinapalan Elementary School will remain a cradle for the dreams of all tribal children.
