Tan’a Youth Choir
Tan’a濁岸迴聲合唱團
Taiwan

The members of Tan’a Youth Choir come from Bunun villages, one of the Taiwan indigenous groups, in Nantou County, Taiwan. Tan’a in Bunun language means listening. We try to integrate traditional ceremonial music with the art of contemporary chorus. With that, we are able to carry on the memory of the land and culture. The choir is led by Conductor, Yushan Chang, and Artistic Supervisor, Mei-Fang Shing. The choir members’ sincere and clear singing voices have often been referred to as “voice with souls” and have won Golden Awards in several international chorus competitions. Through creative arrangement and multi-layered vocal harmony, we are able to present the uniqueness of Bunun music. We not only carry on the traditional culture, but are also explorers of the music innovation. Our dream is that the world would hear the beauty of Taiwan indigenous music through our singing.
