TaoShan Choir is based at Taoshan Elementary School in Qingquan, the most remote Atayal village in Wufeng Township, Hsinchu County. Comprising about 20 students, almost all Atayal, the choir grows in a culturally rich environment near Dabajian Mountain, the Xiakaro Historic Trail, and the Zhang Xueliang Cultural Park. The school offers choir, Atayal xylophone, piano, and string programs, supported through community and external resources, and regularly holds winter and summer music camps to enrich students’ musical learning. TaoShan has released four acclaimed albums, with two winning Golden Melody Awards. The choir was twice invited to lead the national anthem at Taiwan’s National Day Ceremony and has collaborated with renowned artists in charity performances. Internationally, they won the Silver Award at the 2019 Johannes Brahms International Choir Competition, the Gold Award at the 2023 Singapore International Choral Festival, and a Gold Medal at the 2024 World Choir Games.
